One Door Closes, Another Opens

I've migrated over to this blog from my previous one, Servant of the Lord, because the old blog lost focus. I branched off to create this blog so that everything from this point on can be together in one place with one focus.

So what is the focus of this blog? The focus of this blog is similar to the original focus of my ex-blog. I'm going to be journaling my personal walk with Christ and the revelations that God gives to me through His Word and through teachers of the Truth. This blog will have more of a personal feel but it will aim to be God-centered first, me-centered second.

I pray that the content of this blog will be edifying for any readers and I pray that the content of this blog will urge readers to seek out God and to know Him in a more intimate way, not just in knowledge. I also pray that in all things, glory would be to God and God alone.

Joel, I wish you the best as you refocus your attentions on your daily walk with the Lord and the new blog.

I was just listening today to an interview with Keith and Krysten Getty as they talked about putting doctrine back into hymns and worship songs. I first heard of them from a special event where they led worship before Alistair Begg preached. It was a great night of Christ-centered singing and preaching.

Do you recommend any sovereign grace groups that you have found?

I'm afraid I'm not too knowledgeable on Sovereign Grace groups. Perhaps I know what it is and I'm just unfamiliar with the "Sovereign Grace" term. Maybe you could enlighten me on what it means?

I guess the way I meant it is groups who come from a refomed/sovereign grace view of God.

Ah. I knew Sovereign Grace sounded familiar. I think I've heard the term a couple times over at Worship Matters with Bob Kauflin. I was under the impression that it was just a music label.

A little research shows me that Sovereign Grace Ministries is a collective of churches that lean towards the Reformed wing of the evangelical church.

Though I don't know of any Sovereign Churches personally, I am now intrigued to find one myself! I suppose that I am the one now asking you if you have any Sovereign Grace groups to recommend. :)
